It aims to meet the needs of students who wish to advance their knowledge of systems and systems thinking, focussing on the new systems engineering issues likely to confront conventional M&E building services systems in the next decade. An important component of the course addresses the management of innovation needed to bring these new systems and concepts successfully into play. The course content is designed to be uncompromisingly challenging and will be suitable for only the most able students. It builds on the College's strengths in systems, networks and data network theory, drawing on resources across the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and the Business School. Emphasis is placed on applying systems thinking to a wide range of technology, creating the conditions for successful innovation.
